We are so happy you stopped by www.kambing.sch.ph and hope you enjoy the site while finding researching about goat raising and farming in the Philippines. We hope to provide answers to questions about raising goats, from housing to fencing, to feeding and forages. You will also find information about its various uses, goat meat (chevon and cabrito – yummy!) and goat milk (said to be similar to mother's milk, in terms of nutrition).
A number of you may have arrived through the Philippine Goat Farms Map. I hope you find the rest of the site just as useful.
The intention is to develop a one-stop information portal for all persons interested in goat farming in the Philippines. These include goat raisers of all types and herd sizes, and those who are seeking information about going into goat raising themselves. I'm no goat expert - my training and experience is in the field of information technology. In 2007 while researching on the feasibility of goat raising as a business, I found myself frustrated with the difficulty in locating and collecting relevant information about raising goats under Philippine conditions. There are many useful sites out there but you have to dig hard to find them.
I am still compiling various documents and information and adopting them for the Philippine goat raiser. If you are willing to contribute content or write about your experiences in goat raising. I really would like to hear from you!
